Class Descriptions
Yogamatrix offers common and unique yoga classes to meet the different needs of our community. Please read carefully our class description and take as many classes as you want. Remember, in Yoga "an ounce of practice is worth several tons of theory." The benefits of Yoga are cumulative; the more you practice the greater the results. All our yoga classes involve stretching and strengthening exercises, breathing techniques and a relaxation at the end. Enjoy your practice!
Yoga Basics
This class focuses on the principles of yoga poses (asanas), proper breathing, restorative poses and awareness. Ideal for beginners and those who want a gentle class. It provides a solid yoga foundation and serves as review for more experienced practitioners.

Yoga Basics I
Ideal for beginners or those who want a gentle class. This fun class explores yoga principles, stretching and strengthening poses as it allows you to work at your own pace – with or without a chair. It improves flexibility, joint mobility, blood circulation, oxygenation and immune functions. Lots of breathing techniques are included. Please click here for class schedule
Yoga for Stress Relief
Because body and mind are connected and affect each other, specific yoga poses coordinated with proper breathing increase physical, mental and emotional health. A deeper and longer relaxation differentiates this class. It creates a lasting and deeper sense of calm and dynamism, and promotes a better sleeping pattern. Multilevel class. Yoga for your Back
For those who want to improve back, hips and knee conditions, to get rid of habitual stress patterns and, to be healthier and more flexible. It uses a non-invasive approach for the spinal column while it develops an overall sense of calm and well-being. No previous yoga experience is necessary. Please click here for class schedule
Yoga for Weight Loss

Yoga to Unwind
Involves methods and techniques that will undo tensions of the day and focus on breath, health and peace of mind. Includes proper breathing, restorative poses, stretching and strengthening exercises and relaxation. No prerequisites required. Please click here for class schedule
Intermediate
Explores the benefits of yoga through refinement of yoga poses, advanced breathing techniques, holding postures and more. For experienced students. It is recommended at least four months of regular yoga practice before taking this class. Please click here for class schedule
Pregnancy Yoga
Prepare for the joy and challenges of pregnancy and labor: learn proper breathing techniques for labor and daily life, sleep better, relieve stress, improve circulation, reduce back pain, swelling and varicose veins. Please click here for class schedule
Breathing and Meditation
Explores specific yoga poses to improve overall flexibility and prepares for breathing techniques (yoga has more than 20 breathing techniques) which increase bodily oxygenation, improve health, develop inner calm, and pave the way for meditation. Sunrise Yoga

Laughter Yoga
Is a gentle and powerful new concept that blends laughter exercises and breathing techniques. Laughter is proven to activate a biochemical response in the body that dissolves cortisol levels (stress hormone), boost the immune system, improve circulation and leads to happiness and fosters feelings of kindness, joy, forgiveness and love.

Community Class
Community Class – Come to experience our newly created community class. First time or experienced yoga students can enjoy a combination of basics/all levels class with our new teachers who want to share in a loving way their passion for yoga. Mudras- May feature of the Month! Learn how "Mudras" (hand positions) can imporve energy circluation, enhance health, unblock stagnated patterns physically, mentally and emotionally. It includes yoga poses, energy exercises, breathing and relaxation. May 10th to May 31st (no class on May 24th) Saturdays/9:00-10:am. You cannot miss it!

Hip-Openers- Coming June! Learn hip opening yoga poses. These poses go deep into your hips, working the tissues all the way up to your lower back and down to the knees. It not only improves hip conditions but realigns the entire back, knees, ankles and feet. Starts Saturday June 7, 9:00-10:00am.
