Yogamatrix offers common and unique yoga classes to meet the different needs of our community. Please read carefully our class description and take as many classes as you want. Remember, in Yoga "an ounce of practice is worth several tons of theory." The benefits of Yoga are cumulative; the more you practice the greater the results. All our yoga classes involve stretching and strengthening exercises, breathing techniques and a relaxation at the end. Enjoy your practice!

Hatha Yoga Basics
This class focuses on the principles of yoga poses (asanas), proper breathing, restorative poses and awareness. Ideal for beginners and those who want a gentle class. It provides a solid yoga foundation and serves as review for more experienced practitioners.

Yoga for Stress Relief
Because body and mind are connected and affect each other, specific yoga poses coordinated with proper breathing increase physical, mental and emotional health. A deeper and longer relaxation differentiates this class. It creates a lasting and deeper sense of calm and dynamism, and promotes a better sleeping pattern. Multilevel class.

Hip & Back Flexibility
This class includes Yoga poses that go deep and safely into the hips, which are more likely to respond to regular/gentle practice than to irregular/forceful practice. For those who want to improve back, hips and knee conditions, to get rid of habitual stress patterns and, to be healthier and more flexible. It uses a non-invasive approach for the spinal column while it develops an overall sense of calm and well-being. No previous yoga experience is necessary.

Hatha Yoga- All Levels
For newcomers and experienced practitioners alike.  A complete blend of flowing Yoga poses, breathing techniques, concentration, relaxation, imagery and relaxation.  It increases metabolic functions of the body, regulates weight, improves health conditions and you gain strength, flexibility and inner-serenity.

Yoga to Unwind
Involves methods and techniques that will undo tensions of the day and focus on breath, health and peace of mind. Includes proper breathing, restorative poses, stretching and strengthening exercises and relaxation. No prerequisites required.

Vinyasa-Yoga Flow
Move to the next level of Yoga and go deeper acquiring more balance, focus and strength.  It includes progressive variations of Suryanamaskar (sun exercise) and Chandranamaskar (moon exercise) leading to a sequence of standing Yoga poses. Be prepared to detoxify in a deeper level. Some Yoga experience recommended. Intermediate level

Prepare for the joy and challenges of pregnancy and labor: learn proper breathing techniques for labor and daily life, sleep better, relieve stress, improve circulation and reduce back pain, swelling and varicose veins.

Breathing and Meditation
This class explores a few Yoga poses to improve overall flexibility and to prepare for breathing techniques (Yoga has more than 30 breathing techniques).  It increases bodily oxygenation, improve health, develop inner calm, and paves the way for meditation.  Meditation is a state of mind that lowers blood pressure, improves heart conditions and promotes sound sleeping.  Multilevel class.

Sunrise Yoga
Start the day with energizing Yoga poses to increase vitality, improve concentration and awareness.  It includes sun exercise (Surynamaskar), variety of poses and breathing exercises.  All levels.

Laughter Yoga
Is a gentle and powerful new concept that blends laughter exercises and breathing techniques. Laughter is proven to activate a biochemical response in the body that dissolves cortisol levels (stress hormone), boost the immune system, improve circulation and leads to happiness and fosters feelings of kindness, joy, forgiveness and love.

YIN YOGA- Yin Yoga is a variety of poses targeting the deeper and hidden tissues of the body such as the connective tissue – ligaments, tendons and fascia. Recent research in Japan and US links the connective tissue to the flow of energy in the body (Chi or Prana).  Benefits include a deeper range of motion, an increased flow of energy, healthier joints, improved health, greater strength, reduced stress levels.  Beneficial to all.  No Yoga experience needed.

ChakrasLearn about the 7 vortexes of energy located alongside  the spinal column  and how they can help us to open up channels of energy in the body enhancing health conditions,  expanding mental abilities and bringing  balance to emotional levels. Session includes yoga poses, color visualization, breathing techniques, sounds and hand positions (Mudras).

Yoga Nidra (Deeper Relaxation) is an effective way to release stress and reach a deep        physiological resting state which triggers restorative processes in the body.
