Our Team
Edely L. Wallace, Founder/Director of Yoga Matrix E-RYT, CYT, is a master Yoga Instructor with over two decades of teaching experience and training in Belgium, Brazil and the United States. Edely is the former Executive Board Member and Treasurer (2002-2005) of “Yoga Alliance” and, formerly held the position of Yoga Consultant for Orange County Public School (1999 to 2003) in Orlando, Florida.
She began her study of Yoga, in 1983, two years after a serious road accident that took the lives of more than thirty people and confined her to a wheel chair or bed for a couple of years. Unable to walk, she dedicated the next five years of her life to an intense study of Yoga. Through a unique combination of events, she acquired a method that restored her walking ability and contradicted the medical statement that she would never be able to walk without support. From 1988 to 1992 she studied under the famous author and yoga teacher “Andre Van Lysebeth” in Brussels (Belgium). After that, she trained in the US in several Yoga traditions such as Kripalu, Iyengar, Desikachar and Sivananda.
In addition to teaching weekly at Yogamatrix, Edely has been teaching Yoga workshops and retreats nationally and internationally, and since 2000 has trained over 250 yoga teachers. She writes for local magazines about Yoga and Health and has helped thousands of adults, children, disabled students, pre and post-natal women and students with cardiac conditions, auto-immune disorders, cancer, back, kidneys, lungs and accident related injuries to successfully reach their goals.
In the classes, she powerfully and gracefully integrates the physical, mental and subtler aspects of yoga through asanas, pranayama, awareness, yoga-nidra (deeper relaxation) and meditation. She also teaches the new concept Laughter-Yoga.
In 2004 released her new DVD entitled “Yoga for Stress Relief.” Edely has been featured in several TV shows including “Daily Buzz” and Morning News at “Fox 35.” She also teaches classes in French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Edely has a passion for Yoga that becomes evident in the enthusiastic, profound, gentle but precise way she leads the classes, establishing an environment of confidence, well-being and contagious joy in all who follow her teachings.
